As we all are, Rosie is a sucker for new yarn. As soon as something unusual comes in she's sat there, plotting what she will make first with it.
When we got this new chainette yarn in, she pretty quickly decided on a crochet animal. So, meet Benji the Rabbit.
Crocheters love Stylecraft. They also love CAL's. It seems they also love Poldark. Put them all together and you have the Ross CAL from Stylecraft. This version is done in pastel shades, making it bright and airy whilst still looking intricate and detailed.
Prepare yourselves for a whole heap of firsts. This is my first blog, introducing my first crochet pattern, in a certain colour I'm using for the first time ever!
Since we opened we've been pleasantly surprised by how many of our younger visitors have shown an interest in yarn related crafts.
As a result we've introduced these Kids Craft Kits, a perfect way to get your little ones started with crafts. In the kit you get:
- Plastic canvas
- Children's Knitting Needles
- Crochet Hook
- Children's Scissors
- Animal Tape Measure
- Plastic Sewing Needle
- 3 x 10g balls of 100% cotton yarn
- Organza Project bag
We thought it might be helpful to provide a few links to easy patterns you can do with items from the kit, in the hope that it will mean you have hobbies to share with the kids for years to come.
If this pattern proves too tricky check out the Built By Boo patterns in our store here - , they're written in a much simpler way and should be easier to read.

When the young ones have finished their makes please do share pictures with us, either here, on Facebook, or using hashtag 'woolfull' on Instagram.
When we got Sirdar No 1 a few weeks ago both Rosie and I were keen to try it out. Softer and more luxurious than other yarns, we thought this was a great choice for modern baby items.
Almost immediately I decided to design a baby blanket. Those of you who follow us on Facebook or Instagram may have seen progress pictures as I went along.
When we first started looking at the yarns we would like to stock in the shop both Rosie and I were excited by Candy Swirl from Stylecraft. This is their take on the 'cake' yarns that are all the rage right now and Rosie and I both love it.
Check out our yarn review here, my blanket pattern here or the yarn here. Rosie decided to do a squares blanket with this yarn, using large squares to show off the length of the colour changes.
Sirdar No 1 is the new yarn from Sirdar. It comes in 18 great colours, and is wonderfully soft and smooth.
Getting new yarn is one of our very favourite things. We can't wait to show you new things, and we love thinking of all the projects we can make with new yarn when it comes out.
I love hexagons. Call me a wierdo if you like but there's something really pleasing about the shape. I've also been loving greys and greens together lately, so after some playing around with the wonderfully tactile woolly pegs we have in the shop I decided to make a hexagon blanket.
Anyone who knows us know we are true yarnaholics. Even before we opened Woolfull Rosie and I both had hundreds of balls of yarn in our personal stash at home. Varying in colour, texture, squishyness and size you name it we had it, or something like it. Actually, that has only gotten worse in the 10 weeks since we opened the shop. Yeah, about that.
Anyway, as yarnaholics, and big Stylecraft fans, we were very excited to be invited to their Retailer Open Day.
Rosie and I love Stylecraft yarn, it's so easy to crochet with, and so so versatile. Our customers are loving it too, even those who had never used it before are coming back for more, so that's great. We have loads of Stylecraft yarn and patterns in our shop, and it looks so bright and colourful.
When we got Stylecraft Candy Swirl DK in a couple of weeks ago both Rosie and I were itching to get started with it.
I tried a couple of things but wasn't happy with either of them, until I settled on a waffle stitch pattern. I'd been wanting to make something in waffle stitch for a while, and thought that the length of colour change on this yarn would be perfect to give it a little excitement.
Mostly blogs will be posted by Mand, what with her being the technical one. Rest assured, the other two will have contributed their opinions along the way!
